Jacksonville returns with Heavy & Gold, a powerful five-track EP rooted in the raw energy of underground house and analog machine funk. Produced by Chris Lyth, the record blends Chicago-influenced drum programming, hypnotic basslines and deep melodic textures into a set of highly functional DJ cuts built for the dancefloor. The EP moves between muscular jack tracks and deeper hypnotic moments, balancing driving groove architecture with subtle emotional tension. Heavy & Gold opens with the title track, a dense and rolling house cut driven by heavy drums and warm synth layers, before Just Another High delivers a tighter, more stripped-down groove with classic underground swing. Rapido pushes the energy further with a direct, rhythmic workout built for peak-time transitions. On the flip side, Parallel Love expands into a deeper and more atmospheric territory with evolving textures and hypnotic momentum, while closing track Miz & Ida delivers a long, hypnotic groove combining analog warmth and late-night dancefloor pressure. True to the Skylax philosophy, this release focuses on timeless groove design rather than trends, offering DJs and collectors a record built to last in the bag for years. Damian Lazarus invites Kristin Velvet to Crosstown Rebels for ‘Wasp Nest/Get Down’, featuring and remixed by house icon Fred P. Delivering her first material on the iconic label, the Arms & Legs boss serves up two diverse productions, including a collaboration with Fred P, with the New York favourite also providing two slick interpretations of his own.

Rising to prominence over the past decade as an artist backed by a wealth of support from BBC Radio 1, Australian-born DJ/producer and label boss Kristin Velvet has garnered consistent support from The Blessed Madonna to Fat Boy Slim and Carl Cox, seamlessly blending her roots with influences from her adopted homes across the globe, including London, Tokyo and most
recently, Berlin and Ibiza. Collaborating with Felix Da Housecat while releasing material via Josh Wink’s Ovum Recordings, Cassy’s Kwench and Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound, plus her own Arms & Legs which she co-manages with Daniel Steinberg, she continues a busy 2024 with a visit to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels for the very first time with her two-track EP ‘Wasp Nest / Get Down’ - featuring a collaboration with house pioneer Fred P who also serves up two trademark, deep dives.

Warping and twisting, armed with robust drums and ever-evolving synths, ‘Wasp Nest’ is a trippy excursion through an amalgamation of textures, delivering a driving production with twists and turns at every moment, while the slick ‘Get Down pairs crisp percussion and smooth grooves with Fred P’s iconic vocal for a classy house outing. Delivering his own takes on the production, Fred P’s first reshape is a delightful dive through dubby pads and hazy chords before serving up a cosmic excursion across his ‘Deepness’ reshape to close things in style.

Tokyo Prose returns to The North Quarter for his first project since his acclaimed 2018 'Wild Grace' LP. Featuring his trademark ‘less is more’ aesthetics, this EP is a refined, confident progression of the Tokyo Prose sound. The title, ’Twelve Tones’, marks the musical intent of the Jazz-influenced project – which, by design, consists of uncompromising instrumentals. The exception that proves the rule is the Satl remix of 'Lift You Up', which features Steo, and closes out another stellar project by the Auckland native.

The Remixes

A stellar duo of techno talent remix Adam Beyer & DJ Rush’s ‘Restore My Soul’.
The original work, released in June 2021, was a highlight on Drumcode and saw Adam Beyer link with the legendary DJ Rush for an inspiring four track EP. Almost a year on and the label has drafted in a triumvirate of top-shelf techno talent to remix the cuts.

ANNA makes her first outing on DC since 2019’s ‘Galactic Highways’ and delivers a searing rework of ‘Control’ that mixes up her patented brand of stadium sized sonics with a fierce acid stomp throughout the second half of the track. HI-LO follows up his debut EP ‘Hypnos’ with a heavy dose of low-end funk as he reworks the title track retaining the original’s hypnotic bassline and building upon it to craft a beefed-up weapon.

Robert Hood returns to Rekids with ‘The Blueprint EP’ this July.

Following 2020’s ‘Mirror Man’ LP on Radio Slave’s Rekids, Detroit pioneer Robert Hood returns to the label with a four-track EP of his trailblazing minimal techno. Leading the release, ‘Chroma Light’ opens with cinematic pads and pounding 4/4 patterns as twisted synthesis modulates throughout for a striking start. Followed by ‘The Majestic (Deeper Edit)’, with rattling percussion and fiercely relentless stabs, Hood shows his intent in creating propulsive, dancefloor focussed cuts across the EP.

On the flip, ‘The Majestic’ takes the B1 spot, expanding on the previous track with wild synths and his signature machine-like drums before ‘Ultrasonic Room’ closes out the release with eerie atmospherics and an underlying hypnotic pulse taking centre stage.

A founding member of Underground Resistance alongside Mad Mike Banks and Jeff Mills, Robert Hood is one of techno’s originators, with his decorated career spanning three decades across labels like Tresor, Peacefrog, Music Man Records, and of course, his own M-Plant.

Bart Skils returns to Drumcode with a trio of dancefloor weapons. The artist has been one of the most consistent label contributors over the last 18 months, with two Truesoul EPs, a cut on A-Sides Vol.10 and now ‘New Era’, his second Drumcode EP in a year.

‘All Over My Body’ features a collaboration with well-regarded US producer/DJ/vocalist Superchumbo and is a ready-made festival track, propelled by a memorable vox hook, driving groove and thrilling effects. ‘Golden Temple’ is trademark Skils and builds to a hypnotic laser-kissed climax. ‘Dub Killer’ is punchy techno at its finest, capped off by a woozy vocal drop.

Hot double LP of beats and scattered rhymes (JPEGMAFIA, Retro X & Jeshi feature) from this highly inventive producer. Having gained notoriety for his work with Frank Ocean and Travis Scott among others, Only Diamonds Cut Diamonds is overjoyed, heady and nervous at once. It offers a proper introduction to the massively imaginative sound of Vegyn.

Mysticisms returns, looking to the source, Detroit City, with the beautiful house music of Soiree Records International and their 1995 deep vocal bomb, That's How Lovers Be.

Established in 1990 by Derrick Thompson, Soiree has long focused on the deeper side of house, late night rhythms across over 70 releases. Never making a shout out about it, the label might not of garnered the kudos it deserves while laying down a tight standard of cosmic sonic delight.

Featuring in the main Thompson's own Drivetrain releases, his production skills are deployed on this one time project. Written and sung by Montaze Armstrong, alongside the smooth accompaniment of Merchon Bower, the production is ubiquitous Drivetrain. His main mix sets the scene; hats proffering swing and impetus while bass and chords underpin the vocal interplay to skyward perfection.

Once again the label conjoins a latter day contemporary and admired producer to offer their own retake and who better than the essential producer of all things deep, Nail. A huge influence on the label during the formative years of (free party) house music's ascent, his recent return has been widely welcomed. His 'mix' is full of respect and perfect pitch, adding his distinctive low-end rumble, hypnotic hats, skips, loop and shake.

To close, it's all about the legend that is Scott Grooves. Nothing more needs be said, his 9-minute ride show jazz roots worn firmly. Rhodes, claps, piano and vocal are all that's needed. Loose, funky and soulful from a true master.

Love the Mystery.

Veerus makes his Drumcode debut, after an impressive contribution to Truesoul's VA EP in 2017.

The Italian has built up an impressive discography over the last decade, dropping records on labels including Terminal M, Octopus, Filth on Acid and his own Le Club imprint. His collaborative with Maxie Devine 'My Train' was a highlight of Solomun's classic Boiler Room in Tulum, which has clocked 37 million views. In late 2017 he linked up with Brits OC & Verde for the fantastic 'Naaki' that featured on Truesoul's first Various Artists EP, ensuring he was an artist well and truly in Adam Beyer's sights.

His maiden outing for Drumcode mines 20 years of history, taking inspiration from classic trance and acid from the '90s, which he distils to create powerful modern techno works. 'Hypnosis' was a huge highlight of Beyer's Awakenings show at Gashouder during ADE. It's characterised by an engrossing call-and-response dynamic Veerus builds between the 303 acid warbles and the melodic stabs that run throughout. A track custom made for big moments. 'Apocalypse', like its name, is more menacing. Veerus constructs the work to mimic the dramatic theatre of a gladiatorial scene in a film, as heart-fluttering chord progressions, a piercing synth line and dystopian melody mark this memorable track.

Ohio's O'Jays were a hugely popular part of Philadelphia's PIR stable throughout the 1970's and 80's.
They cut numerous sides for the label aided by the incredible production and arrangements of the infamous Gamble and Huff hit machine.

Back in 1979, a new kind of superhero entered the Chicago music scene, '...Daryl Cameron somehow entered the phonebooth of his mind and emerged as Captain Sky.' His first album for LA based AVI record 'The Adventures of Captain Sky' was a smash hit and established Captain Sky as a serious Afro Funk artist right next to Detroit’s George Clinton and Bootsy Collins.The first song on the album, Moonchild was released as a very limited promo 12-inch and remixed by Chicago radio DJ Peter Lewicki. The result is a timeless cosmic disco tune that may be one of the best disco song ever made.

Celebrated producer and musician Danger Mouse and prodigiously talented New York rapper Jemini are gearing up to release their long delayed collaborative album, Born Again Remarkably this soul and funk infused hip-hop tour de force arrives two decades after its creation and the duo's debut LP, Ghetto Pop Life which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Enthused by the response to Ghetto Pop Life, soon after Danger Mouse and Jemini began to tour and to write and record Born Again. Macedonia's own Stojche is Fuse's next guest for the club's freshly made imprint. The long standing DJ and producer has been known to keep Detroit's playfully hybrid style as the focus of his work and 'Metaphor' is the case in point. His four tracks bounce through a nostalgic balance of techno, house, and more with a modern crisp. A refreshing take on club music, Stojche keeps techno's sometimes nonchalant attitude at arms length with a charismatic record that hits its mark with every measure.


The record's first track 'Counterpunch' features heavily lined percussion but still brews up a storm far and wide with resonant dub stabs and open hi hats. The drum machine boasts a full spectrum, rolling through a light show of melodic flashes, perfect for a room compressing soundsystem. The maximalist, vintage detail that Stojche brings to his compositions blurs the lines between classic genres in a time of hasty hybridization, which gives it a sort of authenticity that can't be taken for granted. 'Chordal Tribe', on the other hand, raises the general euphoria of the EP. Luring in the listener with bright pads and full-on drums, Stochje's work is reliable main slot material that adds color to any mix while providing a persuasive low end. Shimmering hi hats give it an ethereal quality making it an appropriate interlude for almost any context. Moving on to the B side, the producer sharpens up his rhythm and emphasizes the hardgroove influence in 'Signal Drive'. Softening the pace of his drums with free use of melodic chord stabs, Stojche opens up his dance floor for a crowd bonding record once again, complete with filter transitions and pummeling toms. As the final contribution, his title track 'Metaphor' begins with a more obscure opening to conclude his EP for Fuse. Leaning more to a techno cut, the record remains flamboyant as ever with open hats and rides shuffling through his arrangement. A muted main synth becomes apparent to focus the energy of the track while allowing for liveset-like drum flickering to take shape beneath, claiming the immortality of old club records with the technical precision of a seasoned modern producer.

In Hayk Karoyi’s music, the vibrant palette of the Mediterranean meets the deep layers of Armenian medieval culture. A composer, sound artist, producer, selector, and live performer, as well as a multi-instrumentalist specializing in Armenian woodwinds, Hayk channels his cultural identity intuitively, allowing memory, place, and subconscious expression to shape his sound. Frequencies Rhythm Life proudly presents the new release from Berlin-based DJ Merci. The Orbit EP is a powerful journey through deep grooves and Brazilianinspired rhythms, featuring three original tracks crafted for the dancefloor.
Completing the release is an outstanding remix by Chicago house legend Glenn Underground, who injects his unmistakable acid-driven touch into ‘Test’, pushing the track into a bold new dimension.

Transversales Disques proudly presents the first official LP reissue of "Deserted Palace", studio album written & performed by Jean Michel Jarre in 1972, during his work experience at G.R.M. (Groupe de Recherches Musicales).

In 1971, an order was placed with producer Francis Dreyfus to provide sound for public places such as airports and libraries. He decided to pass the project on to Jean-Michel, who had recently been signed by his record company.

These fifteen tracks are made with only two synthesizers (EMS VCS3 & Farfisa organ) in an experimental and very minimal style.

"It was a crazy album, totally homemade, with rhythms that I made in my student room, with a minimum of equipment and at the same time electronic sounds that I stole from the GRM where I went at night after stealing the keys to the studios. It is a pirate record, in every sense of the word, in which we find what I did afterwards.” JMJ

Wolfgang Haffner is one of Europe's most respected jazz drummers, known for his impeccable sense of timing, groove, and atmosphere. Though rooted in jazz, his musical language transcends genre boundaries, guided by pulse and subtle nuance rather than tradition alone. For Cocoon Recordings, he now enters an entirely new dialogue, offering warm, organic reinterpretations that honor the spirit of the source material while opening a fresh sonic horizon. The result is a meeting of two artistic worlds where Sven Väth's timeless energy and Haffner's refined touch flow naturally into a new musical form, an encounter between two artistic universes, merging into something both unexpected and deeply musical.

Fusion is a groove driven piece built around a clear, flowing melody, allowing Haffner to reinterpret it acoustically through a jazz lens. Its straight, driving pulse lets him explore the track's rhythmic and melodic interplay with clarity and nuance.

L'Esperanza, originally a dreamy, trance like track, envelops listeners in strings, filtered downbeats, and a playful synth melody, a perfect canvas for Haffner's warm, organic touch. Its ethereal layers and subtle tension allow him to explore the track's emotional depth while preserving its entrancing charm.

Barbarella, emblematic of Sven Väth's early 90s vision, carries the energy and innovation of a club classic. Haffner's reinterpretation transforms it into a rich, acoustic exploration that honors its hypnotic essence. By emphasizing the track's iconic motifs and underlying drive, and by drawing out the track's essential elements, he bridges its electronic origins with a new, organic perspective.

Together, these three reinterpretations form a cohesive journey that celebrates the timeless essence of Sven Väth's music while revealing a new dimension through Haffner's masterful touch, a release that invites listeners to experience familiar classics in a completely new light.

Detroit mixmaster Omar S serves new techno from out of leftfield with 'I Like You', a fresh 12" from the self-professed "best dance music producer and track mixer using faders (not a mouse)" in the city. Omar's all-analogue focus shines through here, professing his amourance for the listener in a short three-track spate. The mix job varies from crunchy to subdued to dynamic; 'I Like You' is the freakiest and roughest, a proper nerve shredder with fizzling hi-hats, 'Sad Techno' falls in the latter camp, sounding less melancholic than alien, a central acid burble glugging away against skeletal kicks. The closing track, meanwhile, 'Before Romance' bumps along with a funk feel that's so low slung it's on the verge of lewdness. Needless to say, we like it a lot.

Palmier is producer and rapper Rocé's new album. At the crossroads of Sade and Rakim, the album unfolds an impeccable flow over gentle melodies, the mellow sound of the saxophone softening the sharpness of the spoken truths. Rocé delivers a melody of hope, and appreciation of determination in the face of the impossible. "La Voie Lactée" features the captivating voice of Natacha Atlas and the sublime orchestrated violins of Samy Bishaï, the whole thing wrapped up in the style reminiscent of Isaac Hayes' soul and Portishead's trip-hop. "Laisse les enfants courir" reveals a soulful hip-hop, between powerful groove and relentless flow, where Rocé blends political lucidity and poetic verse while Cisko's subtle arrangements sculpt an organic, sensitive landscape, poised between tension and serenity. On "Lunaire", Rocé surprises us right away, with a sharp and melodic flow. Driven by powerful imagery and sharp lyrics, the track transforms anger into creative energy. It portrays an artist outside the mainstream, aware of the world's failings but determined to create his own haven.
